Arabic is a dynamic language, spoken natively by more than 300 million Arabs living in 22 states; and used by the UNO officially in their organizations as one of the most widespread languages of the world. Moreover, it is also religious language for more than one billion Muslims of various languages and origins in countries across the globe.

In today’s world, Arabic is of utmost importance due to the economic significance of the oil producing Arabic countries in the global scenario. Learning the Arabic language can open doors to employment in the oil and travel industry. Knowing the Arabic language can help us find a career  in a variety of fields such as  journalism, business and industry, education, finance and banking, translation and interpretation, consulting, foreign service and intelligence etc.Studying the Arabic language will give you a cutting edge in your endeavor towards becoming an international businessman oriented towards the ever-growing Arabic market. From the aspects of national aspiration and global importance, this programme aims to produce graduates who have the ability to apply their knowledge and skills as well as communicate well in Arabic to contribute at the international stage.The syllabus also aims to offer insights into the culture and civilization of countries where Arabic is spoken, thus encouraging positive attitudes towards language learning and towards speakers of foreign languages.

Arabic in Dr.B.R Ambedkar Memmorial Govt.Arts & Science  College has been one of the subjects which were introduced at the undergraduate level as additional language at the present stage. With professionally trained faculty; it provides ample scope for the students to get themselves exposed to translation, communicative and functional Arabic .

Apart from teaching activities, the Department has been organizing Arabic day programme   every year. The Department has also took part in conducting national seminars in association with other departments.
